The Arab-German relations, economic in specific, have not yet reached their peak due to the incomparability of trade exchange and encountered complications, despite the fact that both parties possess all necessary constituents for success. Experts state that the GCC countries have dedicated $1.5 billion (approx. € 1.0 billion) to establish megaprojects, including infrastructure, such as; road networks, transportation, airports, housing, schools and hospitals. Meanwhile, the German party, with its world-class technologies and good reputation, is seeking to win contracts to participate in the execution of such projects; therefore opening new markets beneficial for the German economy.

It is well established that both parties have definite incentives for mutual cooperation. However, but there are obstacles hindering this objective from coming true; i.e. lack of mutual trust, ranking Arab markets as unsafe, multiple and contradictory laws and regulations of mutual trade and investment, cultural, social and linguistic diversity and difficulty of understanding Arab customs and traditions.

Being of Arab Egyptian origin, I am well aware of Arab culture, customs and traditions. Moreover, my legal academic background; especially in international law and international trade law, made me well-versed in the Arab-Arab relations and challenges in the Middle East. During my career as an attorney-at-law in Egypt, I offered legal consultations, issued and regulated contracts and agreements and handled legal procedures for registration of companies and agencies on behalf of various costumers in Arab countries. I made contact with various authorities and governmental and non-governmental institutions, which helped me to gain expertise in legal systems, in addition to being aware of political, social and cultural environments in these countries.

In Germany, I studied Administration and Accounting, then specialized in Logistics (the art of managing the supply chain and science of managing and controlling the flow of goods, information and other resources like energy and people between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet customers' requirements. It involves the integration of information, transportation, inventory, warehousing, material handling, and packaging.)

Upon finishing my studies, I joined one of the largest European companies in the field of Logistics; with branches in 137 countries worldwide. I made my way up the ladder of management until I got to the position of Project Manager in the area of Contract Logistics & Consulting at the company headquarters. This phase assisted me to master the economic and legal systems and understand political and social trends; including customs and traditions, which affect life in Europe, in general, and Germany, in specific.
